    Stuck Fan Clutch

It would have taken just a few hours to pull the stack and have full access, besides you would have been able to check/clean up the stack.;)

That is what putting the 90PSI is for so you can release the clutch and line up the cap screws behind the 4 holes.

OK I think see, you do not have the clearance to remove the fan so you are trying to pull the front off of the clutch? Sorry can't help you there.

I think you are going to have to remove the fan before the clutch. Not sure what 1/2" you are talking about please post us some pictures. The 90PSI releases the clutch not engage it. If you are talking about the nut in the center of the clutch that will not get it apart.

I will bet it was to remove any residual pressure which would keep you from separating the coupling, any air trapped at the cadillac valve would easily be pushed through the valve as it activated and de activated under normal operation, would be the least necessary location for a "trapped air"...

OK, thanks!! maybe those were installed when they went to the coupling at the clutch, to remove any residual pressure which would prevent seperating the coupling.

What everyone is calling a bleeder?, is it possible it is actually a diag. port to check the pressure?, As Coug said dead head systems usually bleed themselves.

I wonder what changed? none of the early trucks had bleeder valves, I have replaced hoses and never had a reason to bleed the system.

If you cannot match the bleeder treads you can just dead head the fan port of the valve into a gauge, all you need there is a 3/8 hose barb to whatever your gauge requires.

It definitely controls the pressure to the clutch, it creates a controlled back pressure on the return line.
