    Just because it is not rusty does not mean it is stainless, put a magnet to it! If it was a MC fork top plug it would be chromed, I think if both the plugs are in the TC then it was an extra that was placed somewhere and forgotten about or lost and was replaced because the tech. could not find it.

    Only ones I know of that look like that are the two in the transfer case and in the hubs, but the hub plugs would be painted. I have never seen a cooled differential cover but they may look like that

    I agree with McP47 it looks like a transfer case fill/drain plug, maybe they drained the fluids so check everything very closely!
