Check pushrods for straightness. Pull a head and inspect.

Admission. I only thought about it because I was breathing life into an 003 with a no fuel situation yesterday. Ended up being a combination of sticky throttle arm not coming up, and a ring of hard crusty sludge around the delivery valve. I was turning it over and hosing it out and thought about...

Zeus do you have a sliding caliper that has a depth gauge on it or a depth micrometer? Suspect cam issues or drive gear issues. Lets see if and how far that plunger is getting pushed. Its a good test because the cam has to overcome that spring force and we can see if it is only partially pushing...

aheilmann68 There are three parts on top. You have the small pipe plug in the middle. The large nut/cap which.the pipe.plug threads into, and the adjuster sleeve which is threaded into.the injector body, and what the cap threads onto. 3/4-32 tpi Iirc... Messing with any if this requires a...

and make sure you have #1 on tdc compression stroke while on PC. getting that wrong can throw you for a loop. Easy to do just by watching the rockers.

I wouldnt bother with the flow timing method. No spring pulling Follow the manual version, pump off engine aligned to port close with #1 at TDC. Lock pump rotor with the screw hole on side of pump. INstall pump with lock in place. replace screw, hook up lines and throttle. go there are...

Wonder if the delivery valve is seating okay and or if the spring is worn out.

Good news is when you get the IP pump fixed up its going to run great with fresh injectors :)

Take an injector out and make it spray outside the head. Its popping off or its not. I never did hear if the actual throttle arm on the injection pump is coming up when the solenoid disengages. Sometimes it is a help to tie the throttle arm all the way up while cranking

Try fittings at the pumps and before the pumps all the way to the tank as well. Sounds like you have air in the fuel stream.

One small thing. The Solenoid is rising and staying up. I am clear on that. But is the throttle arm on the injection pump rising up ( close to 90* of the injection pump)

I was going to say siezed pintle in the nozzles, then I saw jerry already got to them and they are good. Only thing I can really think of fuel wise that could make it run one day, sit, then not run later. Verify the arm is raising, and tie that sucker up a little less than the max it will go...

Did I miss where he was getting fuel through the pump? I was thinking he had a stuck plunger, I read back and saw no mention of fuel past the IP but I was out in the swamp heat all day, and broke my glasses so I kind of skim read at times.

Should be around 1/4'' IIRC make sure you get the delivery valve out. You can use steel honestly, the plunger is hardened and ground, lets face it, the cam smacks the **** out of it on the other side and it is just fine. A junk drill bit turned backwards could work ok.

Get yourself a few brass punches, after removing the Delivery valve, valve holder, spring and the big hex cap, you can see if the plunger is frozen. Put the largest brass punch that easily fits down in there all the way in and give it a baby tap. Ridgid, or did it give? If its ridgid, give it a...
