    Apparently, the trailer was involved in an accident in the military. It looks like a vehicle hit the trailer right at the back axle. The rim and tire are toast for sure. We haven't pulled it all apart yet, but it looks like the axle housing is broken.

    So you can get one from Load King? I'm really surprised they aren't more readily available since they were made by Spicer!

    Does anyone know where I could find a rear trailer axle assembly? The part number is D22AX503-209. I'm not having much luck finding it by internet search. It's the rear axle of the 40 ton low boy M870A1.
