My guess is the reason the gen 2 evaporator is so much physically larger than the gen 1 is because it has a lot more BTU capacity as apparently was needed for Iraq. So if you are using the gen 1 evap with high capacity other components, there is your mismatch.

My guess is the BTU ratings between the HMMWV evaporator and the FMTV is too far apart.

That is correct. Having road draft go through the stack will keep the head pressure low and hence not require the fans to run all the time. I ordered one from Eastern, but will have to fab the mounting brackets.

Well as promised, here is the #12 bracket attached to the #15 bracket. 99% sure it is the same set up as Kambku above. Now to find the crank pulley.

I will be able to report in a day or two if the item 12 bracket fits a 3116. I know the item 15 does. I believe the 3116 and C7 have similar engine accessory mounting.

Nope. Totally shooting in the dark trying to fit this together since I do not have access to the electronic A1P1 or A1P2 TMs. Since many 3116 trucks got the A/C when they got the hard cabs, I suspect the parts in your diagram will work on the soft cab. If you have the TM page that gives the...

Thanks for posting this Scott. Is this from the A1P1 TM? Item 15 from the illustration is available, and it appears to fit the 3116 (see my earlier post with pictures).

Here is the drivers side bracket we seem to be getting wrapped around the axle about. Guys, this is the biggest mystery facing FMTV-dom, so lets work together to get cool air! I had posted this in another thread. The bracket is not the only thing needed (by far) to make the interior console work.

Suprman, I thought you posted having the other A/C compressor bracket that fits on the drivers side of the 3116?

Welcome to Steel Soldiers. Try to post in threads that are about your particular truck, like you did with your dead battery issue. You are not the first person that thought the giant box on top of your HET is an A/C unit.

Thank jpinst. I have ordered one. I know from working in A/C that the btus of the evap, condenser and compressor should match. Does anyone agree that all of the Red Dot military products are the same rating, i.e. , components from the HMMWV kits should interchange?

Check with a Red Dot dealer for the condenser and compressor mount for the FMTV.
