I’m wondering if your cadillac valve is bad and/or your line from it to the fan needs to be bled. If it moves a little, it should move enough, or maybe there’s some oil on the clutch friction plates.
Just thinking/typing out loud here.
I’m sure it’s in the manuals.:?

Hook anything 12V up to one battery and watch the battery/charging circuit failures begin popping...

I recently pulled the heater core (because the fan was dead and I couldn't get the screws loose until I had the box out and could apply some penetrating oil and a little torque) and, while it was out replaced the air intake plenum (or whatever) and a couple of short hoses...
