    Grooved piston top problem.

    The early LDS injectors were 1 hole, later on they were switched to two hole. The 1 hole was the earlier design for engine. As for piston grooves I don't know, the pistons pictured from my truck are LDS pistons, take that for what it's worth

    That cut in the edge of the cup is supposed to be there, the injector sprays into that groove which directs the fuel spray into the piston cup in a swirling motion. If you have no groove and your piston looks like the on I pulled out if my engine, you've got issues.
