    LMTV air/brake problems

tennmogger, would you mind copy/pasting this to the thread below? If Overdrive doesn't mind, maybe add his pic in there too. This is a great bit of troubleshooting information. I had hoped to kind of consolidate some of the air system info into a single thread where appropriate. Worthwhile...

That's a good feeling isn't it? I know you are happy to have the truck in running order!

    LMTV air/brake problems

Also worth mentioning, the thread I linked earlier has the part number for the rebuild kit for the 25060 if you wanted to go that route. Not a huge price difference to just buy a whole valve, and you could rebuild your old ones as spares. Just an option.

    LMTV air/brake problems

If the top diaphragm in the tractor protection valve is bad, it will leak air out of the vent cap on the side of the valve when you are pressing the brake pedal. I'm not sure what other leaks you would have if other parts of the valve are bad. There is a rebuild kit for the valve available at...

    LMTV air/brake problems

I'm not sure on that. Releasing (pulling) that valve vents the air from the parking brakes. Once the system has built up pressure and seems fine, are the parking brakes actually released? What happens if you then pull the valve to engage the parking brakes? Normally it would have a short...

    LMTV air/brake problems

The dash valve for the parking brake is spring loaded and will not stay down unless there is sufficient air pressure. That's why it seems OK if you hold it down long enough for the system to build pressure. The parking brakes (spring brakes) require a certain pressure to overcome the springs...
