I acquired some Trucklites from a route clearance kit. I thought the CUCV needed some help in the illumination department. Mounted them to the brush guard. Used a relay that's activated by the high beams.
I finished wiring the yellow strobe and the Go Light. Both are magnetic mounted as I loathe drilling holes in vehicles.
The 2 red switches control the auxiliary fuel pump and the strobe. The black button is for manual glow plug operation. The Go Lite controller fits very nicely where the...
Quick and Dirty Starter overhaul.
While fixing the water in fuel issue last week I noticed that the starter body was loose. Today I had a few free hours and decided to pull it off and go through it. Here is what I found. The upper bolt on the bracket had been bottomed out into the block...
Monday I noticed the water in fuel light stayed on. So I did some research, easy fix. Tuesday I tried to start it and drain the filter. No go. Too late. Engine will not run on water despite the fact it's made out of oxygen and hydrogen. Pulled the filter off, drained it, learned how to...
Howdy back, from between Bonney Lake and Buckley.
Thye had 2 of those at JBLM DRMO. I got the nicer one. Neither one started though when they were picked up.
It came from JBLM, Washington State. Probably used as a service truck on base. It has a small amount of rust on the passenger side floor board. I ripped out the wet rotted floorcover to keep the water from sitting there. It seems to leak somewhere. It's not actually my truck. Belongs to...
Finished up a few electrical details today. I added the tank and tool box to the back of the truck. Tank used to service generators and diesel Gators. Hence the "red" diesel if your eagle eyes caught that. I added the glow plug manual button and 2 extra circuit breakers where the radio would...
Dropped a fuel tank and pump into the bed for fueling equipment. Need a new filter though before I can use it. The bowl was half full of water and no filter. No wonder they pulled it out of service.
Drove it around a race track a few times. Not very exciting.
