Through rdixiemiller I've got a deposit on a 530C class deuce. The bed is gone as is the transfer PTO. It's otherwise complete and rust free. it's non-turbo but not for very long. That gives me all the major components I need except the front winch and extensions. I even have the transmission...
For those of you who may be interested in the custom M48A2 tractor, it's for sale. Contact Eric at http://www.miltrucks.com/ I spoke with Eric shortly after learning that I was getting the M756A2. He said he might know where another headrack is but didn't know where any beds or accessories were...
Great idea Bjorn! I have an easy up but they aren't that easy. The umbrella would be quick and effective. That would help keep me from becoming more of a redneck than I already am!
Swivel it does, or its supposed to. The pads kinda hang at a 45 degree angle. the reason is the original light boxes keep there. Without the original light boxes the pad hangs flat and can be moved around. Mine were at the 45 and rusted there. I removed all the pins and cleaned and greased...
Here's another pic of the truck with the pioneer tool rack. Oddly enough the center web that holds the pick/mattock and handle is not there and doesn't appear to have ever been there even though the pick/mattock is BII. Other pipelines have the center web so mine is just odd. It's the standard M...
Chris, I just went throught that same process. I even hooked the tractor to it and tried heating it and pulling it out with negative results. I finally beat the sucker though. Towards the back of the truck where the pin goes through, the tube on the bed is cut out so you can hook right onto the...
Yeah! I would sure like to see a detailed pic of the USN data plate. My ride doesn't have one. Also, I don't know when I'll get around to it but I'm OK with sending you that knuckle piece for the gin poles. You guys can copy it and send mine back. As a matter of fact you might check with Robert...
Steelsoldiers, you know, if your Dad wants a nice dropside bed for his truck, I know a guy that would take that short little bed off his hands LOL. I'll try to get out there and take some pics and measurements today or tomorrow for you guys. Did Dad ever reach in that tube in the back and see...
Oh yeah, pics as promised. Unlike a regular deuce, the front mounts don't have springs and are quite robust in comparison. . The 2 center mounts are typical and the back is the plate configuration.
It's either s swamp or a dust bowl, no in between. It's either hot or hotter too. Unlike the triple digit heat the deuce bigalo has to endure, ours usually tops out just shy of the 3 digits. Our humidity often exceeds the 3 digits (or so its feels).
Yeah, I hear ya DR. We got swamped with rain today too. All darned day. Bjorn, as long as it's not pouring in the AM, i'll have your pics. Look for an email ref tires too.
Kenny
Huh? Me notice? Wife says I can smell & spot green trucks 2 counties away. I think she is exaggerating, I've never been able to span more than one county. I have a knack though! And DR, I worked on my truck today too. You plan on dragging the M197A1 behind the shelter?
