    I'd not join the boxes at all. What I think would be cool is a slide out tray/compartment there. You could use it for all kinds of storage or just a rack for some 50 cal or 20MM ammo cans. That would be way cool.

    Agreed or add rear steering! You could also delete the bed and make cab all the way to the rear.
