The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

I scrapped mine. They are heavier than a barge load of anvils. I did save the pallet that slides on the rails in the bed. A nice Miller Trailblazer would be a better choice. Let me know if you get serious, I'll send pics.

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

If all else fails, I have a bed on my truck. Have troop seats or the steel topper as well. There will likely be a wrecker at the rally if you want to wait.

Daggummit. I would have liked to have that bed.

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

The 700R4 was a factory option behind a 6.2. Regardless of the strength and durability comparison of the two, the 6.2 simply doesn't have the power to hurt the 700R4. Now couple that with the fact that you are significantly reducing the operating RPM of the 6.2 while offering it a little lower...

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

    Recovry4x4's viewpoint. 400 turbo + 4.56 gears= 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. 400 and 3.73 gears = 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. 700R4 + 4.56 = 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. No brainer for me. Great job Tom, congrats.

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

That's good info to know Tom. Hey, at least we got you there. I can't wait to hear next years AAR from Speddmon. 70 MPH all the way down and back getting 17 MPG no doubt.

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

Put a reverse rotation vacuum pump in and use it to inflate air mattresses. There is another option. The HMMWV uses a tach drive in that location. Cam driven, drives the oil pump and hooks up to a tach sensor on top. Without the tach sensor it looks like a standard tach cable may attach.

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

The PDF doc speaks of a pump rod. I'm not aware of any pump rods on my IPs. Good research on the TV Cables

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

Hey John, with that said, what year cores are better to build off of or can any 700 be upgraded? I know I have one with a 1983 case but it has 30 SP input so someone has fooled with it. Other than the "K" case, are there any internal case differences?

The "Road Oiler" gets overdrive (700R4 Swap)

That's funny right there. Have you ever seen GL jump start a vehicle? They don't use their crap, they use our crap, sales and surplus crap. Long before GL was schooled on surplus sales, DRMO was smashing doors and bending driveshafts with eerie precision. These are the very same forklifts GL...

So cool. Can't wait to read the AAR on this install with the SECM. Mark, I have the input gear, may not have the adapter. Didn't want you to think Tom got the one we spoke of. Just been super busy.
