Well, got the news the buyer of my M36 got home safely.
He said the truck performed great, and after 1000 km, with 350 km to go, everything was just warmed up and it ran at its best.
I had the tank still 3/4 full with black fuel, after every fuel stop with normal diesel, it started running...
Got the battery empty excuse.. Ohw well..
The guy from Hungary wants to come and look, and even buy it all the same day. It's about 1500km drive for him, he wants to drive home the truck.
I told him about the minor issues with the truck and he was still interested.
Let's see how that will turn...
-I just informed guy 1, with the Mog I want, there is guy 2. Guy 2 has been informed about guy 1.
-Agree on your 2cents, now waiting for Guy 1 to respond to my mail.
He turns off his phone after 8pm and sometimes forgets to turn it back on, according what he said in his mails.
-If Guy 1 does...
The weather was nice overhere, so went out to the M36 and started her up. Let her run at about 1100 rpm for a while, gave her some "black" fuel she loves so much, and got all my tools out. I love the smell of the exhaust with the black stuff with frying oil in the tank. After about 30 mins I...
Got an offer to trade my (unrestored) M36a2 for an (almost fully restored) Unimog 406.:cookoo:
What to do, just wanted to sell, so I could save up for another toy..
There will be choices made, or not..
My M36:
The Unimog:
Something like that.
More like: It's dark, I'm tired, lets do this tomorrow, followed by the next day sleeping in and trying to remember what I was planning to do.. :shrugs:
Don't know, he said he would be in touch. They had to walk to their van at the storage lot.
At that point I did not know what was wrong.
When I knew the problem, I thought it was decent to let him know what was wrong and I was going to fix it.
He was dissapointed there was no power steering...
Had a testdrive last monday with the potential buyers.
Just 500 metres before the storage, my wheel bearings decided to destroy themselves.
Very bad timing, but hey, what can you do..
My buddy came over and we crawled the remaining distance to the storage lot.
Got the wheel off, also the hubcap...
On wednesday needed to jumpstart the M36, because of the cold, just not enough juice in the batteries.
After a few minutes of idling, pulled the throttle to 1100 rpm and went inside for a drink.
Came back, parked her a bit better and went home.
Came back this sunday, to do a check and a drive...
Jup, put my M36a2 up for sale.
It's because I don't get to drive it so often, my M1028 takes me anywhere I want.
Also saving up for another (OD green) toy, but a lot smaller, easier maintenance and locally produced.
Also the Deuce is at a storage lot, I must make an appointment to get it an...
Went to take pictures for the ad, so tried to start, but the batteries did not have enough juice in them.
So took the pictures anyway, but in a more confined area. Made the ad and put it up for sale.
Again, did absolutey nothing, well, went to pay the rent for the storage.
When the weather keeps good, I am going to the storage to make some pictures and put it up for sale. (again)
Someone please keep reminding me: Never do business with Belgians...
They came to look, had me start her up and drive it 5 metres back..
After that, walking around 26 times talking trash about the looks and state, told me they were looking for a clean restored one.
I said: Never said it was...
I put my M36a2 up for sale
The reason is I don't drive it anymore, due to lack of time and so on.
Another reason is that I am going to save up for another toy.
All in all it is with mixed feelings....
Nice, all those winning trucks [thumbzup]
I know of a Van owner who went complaining to the organisation, because he did not win any prize on that particular event, talk about ego..
the Van is a real showpiece, but not my cup of tea. Everybody needs a chance to win.
