    By the time I bought my K1500 I had read about failing PMDs A LOT. Figured it wouldn't happen to me though. Sure did, shortly after. Got an extension harness and relocated the PMD to inside the front bumper. I now keep a spare PMD in the glove box. I can highly recommend you to do so as well...
