    Some more Googling and more horror stories... I already wanted one, now I want one even more. Might be a hard to get part, but looks easy enough to make one.

    Only brace I can think of is the one mentioned here. From what I recall they where not installed on CUCVs, but they where on civilian trucks? I don't think it has anything to do with a cracking transmission housing though. What is the condition of your transmission and engine mounts?
