    From the damage picture it appeared that there was excessive sideways force on the bar. The way it broke was not from pulling straight apart.

    Its aluminum and much easier to transport and operate than a steel bar. Everything has its trade-offs. I think its a decent product I have not gone far with one though.

    It looks like he didn't use feet and somehow had the towbar ends go right to the bumper shackles and missing the "foot joint" caused the failure.

    I have one of those bars too I havent used it yet but thats kind of scary. Were you using axle clamps or tow feet? I think if I use mine I will have someone in the cab steering after hearing about your experience. I did flat tow a 923 with my 931 tractor today I have a gladhand to gladhand...
