I have the switchbox tach housings with harness and generic mil surplus tachs that fit. They dont plug directly into the harness you would need to wire the tach to the harness.

Regulator box on alternator/ Front red terminal is 24v regulation. It divides to do 12v regulation. White terminal on back of regulator is ac output. This can be used to drive a tach.

There is a small harness that plugs into the dash harness and provides the connectors for the upper box switches and tach. It's in the parts tm. All trucks have a pickup the trans control uses it. You can drive a universal tach off the alternator regulator ac terminal.

The alternator ac output on the regulator can be used to drive a tach. The datcon universal tachs I have may work off the ecm signal.

That being said I do have universal tachs that will work with the lmtv. They are 12/24 volt Datcon 4000rpm ones with hour meter. They can be adapted to most vehicles and are mil surplus.

    LMTV M1078 Tachometer

I dont have much A1 experience my A1 truck has collision damage. I believe there is a trigger lead that kicks up the rpms with winch engagement after the pto is engaged. Matt in MI has a complete winch setup he listed for sale it is a first gen though. The A1 manuals are interactive on the diag...

    LMTV M1078 Tachometer

The A1 winch truck that I have did not have a tach. I believe this is due to electronic engine rpm control. Less operator options.

Probably piggybacks off the trans harness somehow. The manual dosnt show a different harness for winch trucks so there is a good possibility the connection you desire is tucked away somewhere in the dash or behind the heater. Pic below is what the connector should look like. A tach signal should...
