    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

M1088 has a heavier duty rear spring pack compared to the M1083 cargo. Made to handle more weight over the rear axles. Funny m939 frame will twist and bend. Lmtv frame not so much. The rear axles are made to move and the dogbones between them keep them in line with each other.

Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the slip joint area might be thicker on the green one.

Driveshaft shops can do custom work. Common for race cars or modded street cars. The lmtv is a different creature. Done wrong and you can have disasterous results. If the slip joint has slop I'm pretty sure it can be rebuilt and the shop can check and balance while they have it.

You can back it off a bit, rtv and let sit till tacky, then bolt down to spec. Let sit for 24 hours before air though. You will need a new rim o ring. Rtv...

    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

I think they rev up to 2400 rpms that's pretty safe for the motor. I have done highway stints at 57 without issue. I would think you would get better mpg with higher gears if you could do 57 at say 2000 rpms. The truck does weigh 17k and you loose some mpg with the awd system.
