Yes, I went there, but my local NAPA had a mess for their air fitting parts storage. They even let me back there to rummage. I spent 30 min and could not find anything to work. I finally found the right combination of hardware and got it all hooked up.

So far, it is much better. There is no moisture purging from the tanks when I open the drain valves. We haven't had cold enough weather to find out if the brakes freeze, but I'm 95% sure the problem is fixed. I was getting water out the purge valves all the time with the finned tube version of...

I took my wife and son to the river for a shake down run the next day. M-1078 hauls the 15.5 ft canoe with ease. [thumbzup]

    TNriverjet's M1078 Thread

During a recent cold snap here in central TN, I had problems with the brakes not releasing. I had the problem once before but not quite as bad. The recent weather was down below 10 deg at night and never over freezing. I began to feel that there was water in the air system as the problem would...

I have been thinking about the noisy drivers hub and bought a shim kit off thebay for $13. I decided to tackle hub removal today and check things out. Photos loaded in reverse order of disassembly. Sorry. Check out the wear/gear mesh pattern on the spiders It seemed to me they were not...

I also found a 24V back up alarm, but haven't decided to install it yet... I see the utility and safety value, but it removes all stealth capabilities  On a separate note, I purchased a NOCO Genius G7200 12/24V battery charger and maintainer. I originally did this to keep the...

In the process of doing the driver's door handle (key cylinder) R&R, I broke the window crank during removal. It was lodged pretty tightly and just broke while I was tapping the handle attachment. Here is what I'm left with to roll down the window... I'm using gloves at this point [thumbzup]...

Here I am driving down the road... while I think about how I should mount and install the Cat power cutoff switch. The obvious place is here: But, I would really like to have it in the cab. I may dig underneath the power panel on the passenger side to see if there is a main lead coming in there.

    TNriverjet's M1078 Thread

Through the course of taking the kids on short shake down missions, we had a passenger door handle failure. We were still able to open the door, but the handle was in danger of completely failing. I was able to source a NOS handle with keys from SS member recksmilparts. It was an exact...

    TNriverjet's M1078 Thread

Ok, It's time I get a thread started to chronicle projects on the truck. This is a 1996 M1078 with about 15,400 miles when we bought it. Here is a photo pretty much as we brought it home. This truck was one that was owned by a local TN police department and then auctioned off. I bought it from...
