    What is it?

Here's a quick video showing what I mean. Sorry for the poor production values and lack of bikinis. *and I meant to say "brake pedal" but hey, gas pedal/brake pedal/all the same, right? ;)
  2. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Actually, solar and wind are officially classified as "unreliable". So the how does matter...to Texas. :) Abbott ordered the Public Utility Commission of Texas to take several immediate actions, including: Streamline incentives within ERCOT to encourage development and maintenance of...

    What is it?

I won't post because it's politics, but right after I posted this I saw that today Abbott ordered the Public Utilities Commission to make it happen. :)
  4. Third From Texas

    What is it?

No, a buncha fuckwits moved to *my* state and thought wind and solar were a good idea here. Turns out, it was all a really STUPID idea and now we need to build more fossil-fired power plants in Texas. And we're gonna... :)

    What is it?

Shit froze here last year. Not gonna let that happen again. Seriously, though I got it for heating the garage when I'm out working on the build or the cars. :)
  6. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Yep. My space heater has internal power. The battery recharges itself thermodynamically. This is in case you want to charge the battery manually. Plug it in and clamp your cables to the shiny bits. I chcu7kled because this it the most high-tech heater I have ever seen. With a very low...

    What is it?

68" is the center point. So roughly a inch less outboard. I forget how long the 5-ton bed is, but you'd add like 4' of cover. You would have to customize the frame mounting points (or get busy with the scissors and sewing machine). It could work, though.

    What is it?

Here's my "What is it?" entry: (I know, I'd just never seen one before)
  9. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Stock is about 68" to the base of the center bar. The cover sets down about 6" from there. I raise mine a couple inches via collar to space it up a bit, so mine have a few extra inches. I think 3" is the max that I would go using a collar. You could go further by making extended feet...

    What is it?

    2008 A1R
  11. Third From Texas

    What is it?

It's not so much a "park" as a roll lock. A failsafe when stopped at an angle (to prevent hopping out of the cab w/o brakes and rolling over yourself I suspect). It's a thing, not just stuck shoes. :)
  12. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Actually, there is. Sorta. It may only be the later trucks, though (I don't recall my A0 having the feature). But on an incline, the truck will not roll unless it is in F or R. It's a transmission thing (maybe limited to the later 3070? I've no idea at what degree incline it kicks in, but...

    What is it?

Might check with @Awesomeness here. He does the swaybar bushings and had talked about doing the cab. You can find NOS surplus, but keep in mind that rubber ages whether it's in use or on a shelf. And the flippers selling those old NOS rubber bits want like $500 per bushing. A few people...
  15. Third From Texas

    What is it?

You can eyeball the upper and lower cab bushings by peeking around the bumper and the wheel well. Sway bar bushings are easy to spot from behind the truck. When the weather passes, that is....
  16. Third From Texas

    What is it?

1% grade won't lock the trans in park (but on my driveway it kicks in). Has to be in gear and park brake released (else it in a no go). I don't recall if my A0 had that same feature but my A1R does. Yeah, all three trucks that I've owned had brakes that will strick a bit if wet and allowed to...
  17. Third From Texas

    What is it?

That was my thought, but then he said it appeared to have a 12 inch radius
  18. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Was the truck parked on an incline? Could the brakes have gotten wet prior to sitting?
