If you're putting them on the the front there's only grease to keep in, not gear oil. I would think you're just fine using the gaskets with RTV. If you're not, they can always be replaced.

Yes, they do require axles with splines on both ends. So if you intend to put them on a rear axle (the stock rear axles are part of the hubs, unlike the front), you'll need to contact Overson's and buy a double spline axle shaft. ~$260 each last time I looked.

Thanks for confirming this. That's my understanding too - one would need a whole new double spline axle shaft (splines on both ends because the stock axle shaft is part of the hub), like Ouverson's sells:
