Im looking to buy an engine for my m1009, the owner has agreed to let me pull the pan to look for damage, besides obvious bits and peices and bent rods and a starter bolt to test the threads on the block are there any really easy things im not aware of to look at when making a used engine...
Within the last month I have installed a new flex plate transmission and converter, new fuel filter and lines, electric pump running directly from a can of clean diesel, I have no fuel coming out of the lines going to the injectors. I have searched but I'm not seeing definitive ways of testing...

My cucv, volvo and miata all are daily driven, the cucv is my primary driver ( i use it to deliver pizza) the volvo is there for fun and sits more compared to the other 2 but i run it every few days.

Truck went in the shop leaking trans fluid from the pump seal and input dhaft seal.....they said they resealed it took my money and i drove it today and notice its still leaking...im sure i fell victim to a stop leak repair...dropping it back off tomorrow for them to try it again.
Transmission shops.these days are.mostly in buisness because front wheel.drive transmission cant hold up to v6 power...or they come defective from factory ( honda oddesy)...
Well the truck just hit 86,000 miles...i have had a number of 300,000+ mile automatic volvos none of which ever gave me transmission issues..all my other cars are manual trans. Ive actually never ended up with a leaking transmission till the cucv...and it started 7 years after the initial...
Well they are asking 750 for the reseal and double that for the rebuild...i would.pull it out myself but weather has not been permitting such action ...so me removing the trans is not really an option till the warmer seasons hit....unfortunately. is it commom for the pump seal to leak at its age?
