    The glow plugs are 12v . The stock system just happens to use resistors to drop the 24v down to 12v. Almost all the issues you are having and will have, have been covered hundreds of times. Most of your questions are covered in the stickies and the CUCV wiki and FAQ.

    One thing you haven't told is what your mechanical skill set is. How are you at turning a wrench? What about understanding electrical systems? Reading wiring diagrams? Working thru/troubleshooting issues? By us know that will help us help you.

    Remove the starter and have it tested. See what type it is. A direct drive or a gear reduction.

    Your should let us know what type of vehicle. Reading in your other post that you just bought a M1008. Is this the truck you are having issues with? Sounds like dirty connections. I would recommend cleaning all the grounds, battery terminals and the 12v and 24v Positive terminal blocks.
