    Is trying to fix this card worth messing with?

    i had the same problem. i just changed DIODE only and then it works perfect till now. Try to change diode ! i did use 1N4007 which is not the same as original one but it works. pattern in your picture looks burnt. if it is you have to connect them manually the below i had experienced.
