Why not? I was thinking about adding an I beam under it and maybe some heavy duty sections of angle iron "L" shaped on top that attach to the outside rails. It would see maybe 4,000lbs momentarily when the truck goes over it and maybe 1,000lbs when the truck is in place.
Then again it would...
My Comanche is too long for the deuce bed, the rear wheel would be on the tailgate. I was tossing around the idea of "extend-a-bed" - making a support for the tailgate when its down so the bed was a little longer.
I just have too much time to wait for my EUC to clear - AAAARRRGH! aua
Since the bed of a deuce is only 12' long and the wheelbase alone is over that, it don't fit too good. I saw a picture once of a Jeep Cherokee in the back of deuce and it barely fit with a wheelbase of about 108".
I think I would rather have military style trailer just to save the hassle of trying to adapt the turn signals and brakes and hitch.
As far as power goes, I plan on turning up the fuel and making some mods down the road to get the HP and torque up.
My Comanche's wheelbase is 12' with 35" tires so its alittle more than 12' from the front of the front tire to the back of the back tire. I tossed around the idea of a generator trailer but would have to extend it. I figure if I am gonna fab something then it might as well be on something a...
A) don't have an extra deuce bed
B) I do have access to a lot of extra metal beams and stuff to build a real simple bed
C) I really don't want something too heavy, just something big enough to tow my truck
Yea I was looking at those M200a1's on GL, could fab up a bed of some sorts to put the truck on.
Anyone have pictures of the M796 Bolster trailer?
was thinking about making the ramps as part of the sides so after you loaded the truck the ramps became sort of a stake side, not sure yet just...
Ryan,
which trailer is in the picture? that one would work fine for me as long as it didn't have the rubber bands.
that one on ebay is a little large and a little too far away for me, thanks for the info guys.
First of all, I know nothing about military trailers, haven't even seen one in person so pardon the not so smart questions.
One of the reasons I bought my deuce is to haul my soon to be rockcrawler ( 1988 Jeep Comanche truck) to and from the trails. I would like a military trailer with the...
