Guyfang, Thank you for the advice. Removing the glass ball has not affected starting, even in cold weather. I use the Run and Battle Short switches to prime the system and it starts right up. MEP-005 engine surges, won't stay at consistent throttle
I just spoke with a local diesel pump repair house. They say this could be due to a governor going bad in the pump or air getting into the lines. Based on the age of the generator and the look of some of the fuel lines, I'm going to go with replacing all the rubber hoses between the day-tank...- asajay

After removing the glass-ball fitting and replacing it with a straight through non-restricted fitting, I've been able to get my MEP-005 to start and run. But now I can't get it to stay at a consistent rpm. The fuel appears to be clean. I've taken the top of the injector pump (IP) off and it...- asajay
