    I had bad fuel pump out of 2006 subaru outback that I had replaced at one time. I harvested the float cut it to length and it's installed and working. The old float was just some kind of light weight composite not hollow. cost $0

    did not notice any.. I thought it was just a lightweight composite / plastic. Did not realize it was hollow like the old metal ones. When I get a chance I'll slice it down the middle and take a look.

    my fuel gauge read "E" so I followed the TM and pulled the sending unit and it Ohm'd out to specs. I reinstalled it and ordered a new fuel gauge. I get the new gauge installed and it's and still on "E". I next ohm'd it in place with a full tank and it's reading 216 ohms = near empty. I made...
