    Actually the DMV site that explains it fairly clearly does not say anything against having a load in your vehicle. It just talks about how you may use the vehicle. In Maryland, from what I was told by a 2.5ton owner, you cannot have any load in your truck. Spare transmission=ticket. Anyways...
