I don't think so. It merely made an already failing air pack more evident. Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

Ok, then, I am afraid, you get to pull that air pack and rebuild it. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/my-airpack-rebuild-with-photos.82753/

Did you remove the splash plate in the master cylinder? See roscommon equipment center web pages for info and pics on the remote reservoir.

Your truck will be as good as depot overhauled when it is back together, Very , very nice job!

If I recall a discussion about bearing vs bushing correctly, the main issue identified was that the bearing does not rotate in this application (or only a few degrees) and the same (relatively small) bearing/race contact surface transfers all the energy from the suspension into the frame, all...

Yes, works just fine. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/deuce-axle-ratio.64489/ And post #5 describes one with mixed age axles: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/53-studebaker-truck-rebuilt-into-multifuel.195228/

Hey, that looks just like my backyard. I mean...if you could see my backyard under all that snow.

Have you ever checked your trunnion bearings? Jack rear of the truck up by the frame until the leaf springs are completely relaxed, remove trunnion cap and check bushing/bearing. Good time to grease it after modding the cap with a grease zerk for easier greasing. There is a bit of disagreement...

Oh no! Sorry to hear about the aborted test flight and hard landing. Hopefully that is the only damage and a relatively quick fix. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Pizza and beer for 3 was probably cheaper than the forklift rental! Good job, she looks like a much improved truck! Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

$30 is a really good price if it needed boiling out and a few little fixes! I paid..umm...300-ish for them to re-core and replace the tank. Still cheaper than a new one.

Get their ferrules, too. You CAN use the brass ferrules from the plumbing section in the hardware store but they are a hair to wide and the compression nut won't grab a thread. Briefly touch the ferrule to the bench grinder on both open sides and - voila - they also work.

The part that potentially sees high voltages is the regulator (mechanical energy goes in but no current flows out). I am not an expert on the mil spec alternators. A regular 12V car alternator is "expected" to survive being run without being connected to the batteries. Disconnecting the wires...

You know you are NOT a redneck if a friend towed your truck. It could have involved a garbage can on a couple 2x4 duct taped to the frame to sit on and a really airy ride, out in the open, being deafened by the multi without a stack!

Do you have a radiator shop in your area that does truck or aircraft rads? If so, it may be well worth having the rad boiled out to reveal any damaged areas and then fix it. They can put in a new core, for instance. These radiators are immensely repairable, compared to contemporary products. A...
