    Im 5’10” 230 and i put my beer gut against the bumper and pull downward on the handles. Seems to work with ease for me. is there a lube point on the hinges? I cant remember.

    Iv seen big trucks with hydraulic assist actuators/struts, like those on suv/car hatch backs. Might look into something like that.
