    its been over 20yrs since i messed with a duce. I cant remember how much rm is available with the switch installed. but yes, pliers work good too for crossing connectors out.

    Pull the switch out, disconnect the wires from switch, try crossing the wires together to see if it bumps over. If so, that is your culprit. If not, could be the starter solenoid.
