can you run this also with same parameters but different tire heights? OEM (45"ish), 14R20's (48"ish), and 16R20 (53ish)... and for shitz and grins... maybe 12r20 (40ish).. might be smart to lower center of gravity on and off road for those building expedition rigs.... ??
If I remember it right.. and I honestly don't remember where I saw a report that Eco on a truck already with the 3.07 gears ... may not mix well on paper (ratio wise). and that may be true.... wonder though if that combo would let you go DOWN a tire size to one that is commercially, easily...
Yup... prevented my LMTV from burning to the ground from smell of wires burning.. started chasing all around it (after removing power from batts)... but magic smoke was still being released... Tilted cab lickedy split and found the smell was coating on windings in my Neihoff.... AND it was on...
Well have heard of "seat of the pants" (feel) driving... the "nose knows" method ... that one is new to me LOL :driver:
(not really.... am exactly the same myself too)
Agree- though suspect he was just reporting experience with how it aided driving with his Eco Hub swap- not really expecting it to get much responses... but it did. Is what it is.
MODERATOR/ADMIN. can you do your magic and split out various post on this braking topic, and Oil Pump Topic to...
they are standard driveshafts for big rigs. Just take it to a driveline shop and have it rebuilt and balanced. Since this is on a high pinion axle it is not death sentence like on four wheeled cousins. Tires first.
Message a moderator about moving the post here about your truck to its own...
Many states are clamping down on this. The exotic care market abused this a little too much thus many states have passed legislation and or re-written registration code to fine HEAVY if you are doing this........ Think GA was first one to poo poo this
PM becomes available after you have X number of post in X time frame (to fast your a spammer) . It is a common bulletin board built in spam protection thing. Can't post pics either. Think it is only 5 conversation post.
search in this thread for my name..... I asked about bolt sizes in the ECO .. In OEM setup you can use one to stick in axle end to help pull it out. He said same bolt sizes are in ECO so one can still do this. Those few post on that part should answer your questions. Think it was pretty...
no the 6x6 is full time on these trucks. On some trucks; but not the FMTV's, the rear axle only works when activated. FMTV and most newer 6x6 not like that. There is a 3rd differential in the power divider. It sits sideways between the axle pair to modulate power back and forth between middle...
locking hub on rear might be good for ice driving esp. if you have rear locker?... turn rear hubs. put it in 4wd Mode giving you only front wheel drive. Know on my Jeep I wish like hell I could get rear locking hubs for icy roads. My Torqueee diesel in the Jeep wants to slide my rear all...
Did you keep the hub bolt same bolt/thread as the OEM? Only asking cause those bolts will also screw into the end of the axle shaft.... so like if you needed towing... you can use that bolt to grab and pull rear axle shafts.... then tower can just lift tow from the front.
Oh....... wait...
