K&N Air filter for the deuce

Here is a similar "Russian tank clock", although, I think mine is from the 1960's. Keep looking, they pop up from time to time (no pun intended), but don't pay too much for them, like I said, I paid about $15 for mine a year ago...

K&N Air filter for the deuce

Glad your deuce is behaving. :-) The air filter probably has nothing to do with the ease of starting. At idle and low rpm's the engine has more than enough air. Just this morning my deuce started in 10 seconds (got a clock, he he) at 24F and the air filter is probably due for a change/cleaning...

K&N Air filter for the deuce

Placed an air filter canister from an M543 on the fender of the deuce just for fun. :) The filter element is a Donaldson 19207-7737491, rated 525 CFM. PS. If the top looks funny, it's because I keep a vinyl spare top over the bikini top when the truck isn't driven. PS. The color on the...

K&N Air filter for the deuce

K&N Air filter for the deuce

Thanks for that info Djfreema! I have to monitor the pyro at all times when loaded down, perhaps higher air flow will help. The biodiesel is supplied at a slightly lower delivery rate (thanks to the FDC) and I don't have the problem with EGT since running on BD, but I plan to change the setting...

K&N Air filter for the deuce

Hmm.... I routinly register 12 psi on my boost gauge with a pyro temp of about 1,150F. That's in the hills when I'm loaded and trying to maintain the speed.

K&N Air filter for the deuce

Wallew, unless your deuce now has a new "standard" filter, you'll have to get a new one of them too for a good comparison. You may need to install pyro and boost gauges also and finally, find a good long hill to load the engine. It's possible that the only advantage will be a higher tolerance...
