Another question, is the antenna mount your idea or is there a military precedent?

Patrick, good to see that you made it back all right! Question regarding your front tires (Toyo M140 11.00r20), how many miles do you have on them and is there any noticable wear? Also, do you run with or without an innertube? Thanks,

Andy, he just called me to let everybody know that he is now parked in an RV park in Edwards, Mississippi. Patrick decided that the $20/day at Askew's Landing was better than the truck stops, (but has no internet connection). The alternator fix is holding up just fine and he is enjoying the...

Good work guys! I'm bringing a spare (generator) on my next trip. :-)

Replacing those generator belts can be a PITA. When finished, make sure your alternator is tight, a couple of bolts on the bracket are very difficult to reach. When replacing the generator, I find it easier to "hook" the belts on the pully before bolting it in.

Patrick, while at the truck stop, put your deuce on the scales, it will give you a definite on the weight. Knowing the weight of the basic cargo truck, 13,100 lb (plus extra 1100's in your case), should pin down the shelter weight.

Glad you made it to Commerce, GA so quickly, it wasn't quite as far as we figured I guess, less than 300 miles. You guys look good in the dark. :-) Enjoyed you company too and Opie's of course, next time you have to stay longer! I recognize the view above driving from VA into NC on I-77, about...

Will, according to Patrick, the blades are better made than the originals and the arm length is adjustable. They are on the truck in this picture. He said they work better.

After a breakfast and last minute "walk around" checks, Patrick left at 09:10 hrs this morning... Have a great trip! Peter, glad you made it back okay, that Blue Ridge Parkway gets very dark at night indeed. The gravel in our driveway gives everybody trouble, so don't feel bad. :-)

Patrick and Peter (Opie) arrived within minutes of each other, just after 15:00 hrs today. It's windy but otherwise the weather is cooperating. Patrick has an impressive amount of electronis in his S-280 "commo box". Glad Opie took the time to drive his deuce from Roanoke about 65 miles away...

That was me Patrick, came up with something like 50 hp of braking power for the engine alone, about twice that with the exhaust brake.

Patrick, glad you found a few goodies at least at Howard's. The weather doesn't look too good for the rest of the week, a lot of rain for the whole area, But if you make it to Clarks in Polka before they close today, they have large indoor storage facilities where you can "shop". I'm about 200...

I kept the "scenic" routes to a minimum on my trip since there is no place to go in case of a breakdown. Did encounter some interesting highway going North towards Joplin MO from Arkansas that kind of fit your description. There were rock overhangs that made the road seem like a tunnel cut in...

Patrick, no arrangement with Buddy, who you will be dealing with. If anybody needs something from Howard's, this is the time to chime in, but you have to work out the method of payment with Patrick.

Correct, the hose is a 2" one. Check the hose clamps for tightness, it needs to be done from time to time.

Here are the directions. Don't know where Howard's is in relation to Bancroft along rt 189, but it's at mile marker 6 on the left. The house is actually before you get to MM6, but there is no parking there.

Patrick, if you have the time, go ahead and go up to Greenville, I'll post local directions before lunch today unless sombody else beats me to it. Got them filed away and have to dig a little. Directions are easy to follow. Also, on your way East from Greenville, drive on to Charleston, WV and...

Here is a perfect side tour for you Patrick, Howard's (Now Buddy's) in Greenville, only about 250 miles away from Memphis. Spend a day there, take "orders" from forum members, bring the stuff to me for shipping further South or East later.

Looks like you covered a good bit of distance on your first day. Are you heading straight for Virginia or are you making any stops before? At your rate, you'll be here before the weekend. I may have the cable you need, twisted shielded pair w/teflon jacket....
