I have a set of the expensive Hoppy head lamp aimers. I agree that 99.9% of headlamps are not properly adjusted during the annual Pennsylvania State safety inspection. If they light they pass. I seldom ever used the set of adjusters I have. I was required to have them in order to get my...
Mine just came direct from Truck lite. I just received them yesterday. I buy direct from Truck lite NOT a dealer. Still the same lights from what I see.
I can't elaborate on any hot spots. I have them on several CUCV's and plow trucks. It is a whiter light and has less glaring effect to oncoming traffic. The LED headlamp that truck light makes is also made in a snow plow light. I installed these on the trucks last winter. I am thinking of adding...
Did you use Truck lite LED headlamps. Truck lite 27450 C. I just purchased another set for an upcoming build. Never had any issues with any bright spots. On multi diodes I seen they were poor. LED technology has come a long way in the past couple years. Post a picture if you can.
Anti seize and plastic? Not sure that is effective. Plain vasoline / wheel bearing grease would do it. But the rust on the buckets and the core support is the real culprit. This is another place the 2" rolok disc comes into play. Polished up , greased and done with it.
I contacted our Truck lite support rep.
Subject: FW: 27450C
Do you offer the 5 X 7 12 volt LED headlamps with a heaterelement built into the lenses. If so what is the part number? And do you have apicture of it?
Sorry, no.
So I am correct. Truck lite doesnot offer a heated 27450C...
I have never done any upgrade on the head lamp harness. i have the same M1009 for 20 years and never had any problems with the wiring. I replaced the fuse on the lighting circuit with a circuit breaker and my troubles were over. I also used a few in line fuses to eliminate the over heated fuse...
I know they are a huge improvement. And more valuable then anything else you can put on a good running CUCV. I changed the plow lights to LED this past winter. Huge improvement. LED is the way of the future. I seen the 24 volt ones on 5 tons with the heating element built into them also. I have...
The passenger side could be a hassle depending on your battery size and how thick your arms are.
They snap in from the front side of the core support. The Hulk could change them with the stock replacement ones. Remove the bezel and pull the spring. Just remember to clean the contact surfaces...
They keep dropping in price. If it were me I would hold off. LED's were optional and expensive on most truck bodies. They are now standard and inexpensive in comparison to a few years ago.
All you need is the lights. they are available on Amazon and they are a direct fit. You remove the existing headlamps and plug these LED Trucklite head lamps in and reinstall the headlamp buckets. That easy.
I was going to tell you about the lube on the buckets and support but I thought you already knew that. The bolt and nut method would be a PITA to do slight adjustments for inspection. We have Pennsylvania state safety inspection and headlamp adjustment is part of that. I found that once must...
Take every one you see at the YOUPULLIT. I take every headlamp bucket I see. I just snagged 2 sets of Astro van seat base pedestals to mount in some M1009's. The original ones are to high for the GM seats out of the 2017 vans. But finding the correct thread nut sert would work or just getting...
I have halogens and LED's on snow plow trucks. The only difference is the ice sticks to the halogens with a 1" gap in the ice to the glass surface and the lights are worthless. With the LED headlamps on the plow set up the snow and ice sticks to the surface and the lights are still brighter...
Anything that is worth having has a price. Mostly junk is cheap and you will never get anywhere trying to go the cheap way. If so I never found it. Cheap is just that cheap. You will be exuberant. I know it as a fact. I have them on 3 trucks for over 2 years. No problems with ice or flickering...
