    You may have to replace the harness from the switch to the resistor. It is a poor setup and is prone to getting a bad connection over time. Some do and some don't.

    Also note the wiring pigtail that runs to the fan switch and resistor under the hood on the heater box has a tendency to have a bad connection and gets hot and melts the switch. It is loose and makes resistance and heat. Make sure the connection is tight and apply some dielectric grease on that...
