    1986 M1008 losing power

    The tank should be as near as possible to empty. Check out this thread. I just done a few M1009 fuel tanks in the last year. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/cucvrus-repair-projects.192437/page-13#lg=post-2372667&slide=1 Good Luck. I didn't see any hijacking. It is all fuel related to me.

    Fuel pumps or injection pumps? I do not think there is a defined time line as to when the pumps fail. I had brand new injection pumps fail in less than a year. I have removed some from engines and replaced them just because I didn't know how old they were. The lift pump I replace as a precaution...
