    You do NOT want to run a 12V alternator and hook it up to the middle. It would cause a MASSIVE inbalance, and it WILL backcharge the other battery, killing it very shortly. Probably destroy the regulators in both alternators as well. If the 24V alternator/generator were to fail with this...
