Use large zip ties, hose clamps, or bolts/nuts to attach.
Mine has two keys. If you are not in a hurry I can send you one. But, I'm working a lot and may not be able to get it out for a week or two and you may have to remind me in a week or two. Send a PM if you can wait a little while.
You might be able to use a switch from a boat or auto with an "aux" position that is CCW from the off position. Turn the key CCW to pre-heat, then turn CW past off, past run, to start and settle back on run. Sea Dog 420375-1, for example. Google " 4 Position Ignition Switch"
Or, some boat...
I dunno if mine has one or two keys. Whatever it has is chained to the unit. The guy in the other thread just locked his 30D36R up so he might be selling parts soon.
Let me know the part # when you get a chance. Also, is the check valve necessary? I may revert back to the original style fuel filter because it appears to have a water separator function, too. I suppose the T from the injector bypass to the fuel filter is to give the filter a little positive...
Mine doesn't have a valve there, just a metal elbow at the tank. The T goes down to the fuel filter assembly. My unit was missing the fuel filter assembly, part #70 shown on page 84 of the TO manual. So, I just put an inline filter in the hose to the injector pump. I also deleted the T and...
It is grab and run backup. I haven't taken readings, yet, but to me it seems quieter than 3500W gas generators.
My gen arsenal is getting there:
Honda EU2000i
30D36R
MEP-016D
MEP-016E (10HP Yanmar 5 or 7.5kW upgrade project in the works)
MEP-003A (not running, yet, and for sale as is)...
Me, too. Those are nice but not single man portable. I have a water cooled Kubota gen, but it isn't a MEP. The 531, 831, and 903 are all nice, but rarely seen at DRMO sales.
What valve? Can you post a pic? There is a valve on the bottom of the fuel tank for fuel on/off. The top is...
Got the little Pow'R Gard 3kW going. It needed to have the tank flushed. There was some goop like Caramel in there. It was very sticky and gummy and GoJo did not phase it. The in tank fuel filter was clogged solid with the goop and had to be trashed. The external filter/water separator was...
