I mentioned the deep water ford capabilities of the HMMWV earlier but like I said I don’t know about the H1 and now I am curious. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get the DWF kit on the H1? I know it’s going to raise **** with the interior when you get it wet but just curious if it will stay...
For someone just wanting to know the differences between the two you sure have a lot of complaints about the answers. Those are the differences and why they are not road legal in some places. If you don’t like it get the DOT safety standards and DMV registration standards changed.
Pretty sure that’s spot on. The only reason the H1 came to be is because a few people with REALLY thick wallets said “that’s bad ass, I want one but I want it to have power everything, leather, wood grain or carbon fiber and radio and heat and ac and .......”. Uncle Sam didn’t buy it to be comfy...

I have also been told AM General doesn’t want the HMMWV released to the public for highway use because just like you said, they haven’t been crash tested and were never meant for the civilian highways.

It depends state to state the definition of “road worthy”. In Nebraska they title and license the HMMWV just like a pickup. I think a lot of states consider them off road because of the fact they are emissions exempt and they don’t have any info as far as safety in crashes (at least that’s what...
