Excellent point about the engine oil, I never did burn that in my Deuce without filtering. The oil in mine was very clean, I suppose it had just been done before turning it in. Hopefully they didn't damage it too much running it on 15-40!
The oil comes out of HEMTT like a fire hose. Two 5 gallon buckets at a minimum to drain her on the engine side, nearly the same on the transmission. Both fluids are the same coming from the military, so if you are burning one, you can burn the other!
I would agree with Wade, there's no sense in draining them, in fact, I think most had nice pictures like this one (from my truck) that shows the coolant level in the radiator.
My HEMTT came out of Ft. Worth, and the temp gauge did indeed show rather high. I think there's something up with the gauges when the batteries are trashed, nothing to do with the coolant. Most HEMTT's batteries are done, the whole runs when jumps, but won't after shutting down. Once my...
