    Be aware, with the wrong one installed, your glow plugs would have been powered the whole time your key was on. You probably need new GPs.

    Yes, it needs to be an isolated ground relay to function properly. If it is not, you'r GPs would be on all the time(until they burn out), if the wiring is original.

    Your relay is incorrect. Are you asking if the GPR109 relay is correct? It is.
