    Many of these trucks have a cold start option, flame heat or ether start, if you have a switch on the lower left dash panel you probably have one.     It is a 1971!!! Even if they did make M35s in '52, I still don't think so, it would have been a REO.

    I don't think it is a 1952, I think the M35 was first produced in 1953. They were gassers until the '60s. Post you info on the Vin info thread and Carnac will help you out.
