Im not sure (never checked) wheter its an air valve or controls a solenoid... if its a solenoid it might be an electrical fault, otherwise, see if you have air pressure. Ofcourse its likely for the brake cylinder to be faulty too, just take off the air line to it and see if it gets activated...

Its the white lever under the dash just left of the steering column (as pictured above)... controls the belt brake which is on the drive shaft just in front of winch.

Bypassing the neutral solenoid is an easy fix though. Theres 4 bolts keeping the cover down, remove those, remove the cover, then remove the bolt linking the solenoid to the shaft so it can move freely. This way no matter what the solenoid does, the truck wont go into neutral. It just means you...

You can get severly discharged (damaged) batteries back to live by hooking them to a good battery with the polarity reversed (wires crossed). Leave connected like that overnight, and the dead battery might come to life again. I'm not a big fan of this technique though... in my experience...

Going with MortarInvestments. The delays are because the other 813 owner in the country wanted a cab and some parts as well, and we tried to do the deal together. He seems to have disappeared now though, so Im continuing the deal on my own.

More likely my workshop manual is incomplete. KNowing tatra it cant be complicated anyway. The air pressure regulator on the back of the truck, near the anti freeze pump, has a special oil-seperator bit that you need to drain regularly, so theres probably a lot of oil in the compressor ;)

Just checked here, one manual says "have it serviced in workshop", and the other mentions every air related bit except the compressor :o

Designed just as smart as the rest of the truck then. How do you get the control levers inside the cab though? Is there a place to stick rods through or something? I know I've seen some small oval shaped holes in the cab (about 5x2 cm) plugged with a little rubber thingy. Get to think of it...

Thank god hydraulic pipes are common nowadays and made to fit in minutes. I've become quite the regular at our local hydraulics shop lately :) Ofcourse its easier being abroad, with all the metric sizes and stuff. Keep a good eye out for that, I found they like to mix 10mm, 3/8 and 1/4 a lot...

Dont know have yet to adjust my clutch gap. The manual mentions some special tools, but they look easy enough to fabricate. Good idea though, will check somewhere next week.

Checked the clutch fluid levels and bleeded air from the system? Makes a lot of difference. Also I replaced the air assist line on my clutch pedal (the small line coming from the pedal itself). If you can feel it extend under pressure when pushing on the clutch pedal, the line has gone soft and...

Well the winch is rated 25 ton, and the truck carries a massive pulley (block) so you can wrap the winch around and pull 50 ton. When you do that you usually tie the vehicle to something solid (like a medium sized city ;)), or you get someone to weld a massively ugly ground anchor and ruin your...

That's the best thing you can do to it, definately :D If you're doing farm work only you could maybe make the gas tanks a little smaller to allow for the legs, since I assume you have your own diesel supply on site. By using twistlocks you mean container style locks yeah? Thought about using...

Heh, nice! Guess that's not too hard, with that crane on there and all. Im thinking a standard dropside would look great, when covering the entire back of the truck. Every time I look at your pictures I want a crane on mine more and more. But do tell, what are your plans :D Also, do you bring a...
