How did you do this? You need both 24v and 12v right? I read you can't hook 2 batteries both in series and parallel. Are you using one 24v battery for the 24v side and one 12v battery for the 12v side of things?

Ahhhh ok thank you. I was beginning to suspect this may be the issue after reading in a different thread that overhead clearance is tight in there and that these had an extra post. Makes sense now.

Man this forum is great. While googling series parallel wiring in general, I was brought back to a Steelsoldiers thread which seems to answer my second question. Looks like you can't wire two 12v batteries both in series and parallel so the electrician is apparently right on that point...
