    wrong bearing or not, its still the same size. so if it wasnt bad yet, then it wouldnt be your culprit. It will be interesting to see what is the cause of this, since it isnt limited to just one truck.

    True, but if the shaft wasnt moving around, it wouldnt tear up the seal. Is there a tolerance to check the bearing without tearing the trans down?

    gotcha. i would be concerned about it being contaminated. Maybe you could get away with cleaning it with alcohol?
