MY final................
Just replace it.
Finger test the ORB's on the ends, if you even think it is loose it is no good..
Replace every few years.......
Dis-allow corrosion.
I sad that all the work I did with the puter and printers it still comes out sideways.
Me thinks all the Cat 3116 owners...
I made a lot of money in my life brazing and un-brazing things, especially on jet engine multi-fuel manifolds.
Made quite a few inventions for myself to do it all better and easier especially on the flow bench.
So this story interested me a bunch but I finished now, {don't even have a CAT 3116}...
What would be the "normal" engine running oil pressure in this line?
I did read that the governor mechanism is splash oiled but see not restrictor on inlet.
{Must be engine oil pressure do to it's being able to pump out al the engine oil quick when broken/failed.}
The tube ID is only about...
Can anybody say what this fitting is?
I worked with many strange fittings on P&W engines but first I see this one.
Need nomenclature. All I find is "boss" connection.
It is P/N 6V8647
4730-01-360-9109 (6V8647)
even for 76 bucks I would have put one on there.

A reoccurring problem in MTV/LMTV (FMTV) trucks with the Caterpillar 3116 engine is the failure of the High...
Hey, whatever one does use...............
Is there a way to shut OFF the motor when this line looses pressure?
That would be scrumptious.
Maybe just a tee with a pressure switch?
save and engine
"Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)"
I been watching the loss of entire engine, really quick, of this story, for a long time.
Really bad stories.
My comments were to just use Swagelok fittings and hoses but never got a comment.
Swagelok is power plant proven...
You guys are doing good.
If I was to save an an engine I would not use anything but ................
No, not brake hose, no, not chinese knockoffs, No not all that other stuff that is out there.
Only get one engine, protect it.
Every part in that photo is Swagelok.
Look up the hose or anything there. I just use the best stuff, I have nothing to do with Swagelok.
htttps://www.swagelok.com/en/product/Hoses-and-Flexible-Tubing
OEM automobile manufactures have had to goto hoses like Swagelok.
They might not use Swagelok...
I was just wondering why not just replace it with all SwageLok and everybody be done with it.
This stuff does not fail.
Used all over power plants, aircraft, and a Deuce.
