Trans and transfer cases, air compressors and the like use non-detergent oils

Old thread update.
I am a shifting fool. I like keeping engine at the torque peak and shifting around and not lugging my engine. When I got the Deuce it was difficult to shift it as it is supposed to be done.
I researched SS and found she probably had some "not as good as could be" lubrication...
You have a positive pressure crankcase. Design is to blow all the combustion byproducts into the circulating lube oil. Diesel engines plague is the soot generation, the particulate mass, including the microscopic ultra-fine particles size one tenth millionth meter (nanometer and up) does not...
So for to place it at 1600PPM and 22 quarts of oil then 4.6 bottles of Lucas "Engine Break-In Oil Additive TB ZINC-PLUS (Lucas #10063) should be correct.
I found 12 bottles at 10 bucks a piece so that adds about 46 bucks to the oil change filters bill (free labor) or there is Lucas part...
No, this thread can't die.........
So I found that elusive technical paper from SAE but it just says to make an engine study.
Now I search for the newest SAE "study; laboratory engine test".
SAE technical paper below.
Cam and Lifter Wear as Affected by Engine Oil ZDP Concentration and Type...
Might have to swap the Rotella T to Rottella T6 next time around.
T6 is not recommended for many engines due to the high phosphate level within the ZDDP.
Still learning here how about you.

So I was studying "a quote from another" and research indicates the following.
My LO 9-2320-209-1 multifuel indicates to use GO in the transmission and Transfer cases.
GO is listed as oil, multipurpose as MIL-L_2105.
That morphed into the 1983 MIL-L-2105D in August 1983.
That morphed into...
OK, I was going to use the non-detergeant from tracktor supply and they had none in stock so I Amazoned and got the MAG1.
So I am experimenting with the MAG1 non-detergeant 40 W in my transmission. The trans just shifts a lot better now but then I do not know what was in there before. Its OK. I...
At my level of driving my truck I only had to change the transmission, transfer case and differential lubes once. All the old stuff drained had no visable refuse or metals found with my most powerful magnet and best strainer hydraulic cloths. Since it ain't broke there is nothing for me to fix...
