Being its a 5ton, I doubt it effects it much, but he knows its there. Unless its registered commercial, he shouldn't need to worry about empty weights and scales.

Actually I have looked into power rotate. Currently I use a come-a-long to pull the boom over the bed if needed. I found a video of a guy that uses a horrible freight winch sideways to have controlled power rotate cheaply. He even hooked up a secondary gear box so it would spin slower.
