I don't know if it has been posted, so I will (maybe) say it again, I have found most tires on deuce rims FULLY seat around 30psi. Seems as if you haven't got that far yet.
Haha! Squirt some gas on the rim, hit it with the pic-axe, watch spark ignite gas, go find old guy after explosion! What a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Just to be clear, there are multiple designs of rims with rings. The split rim is the big killer that you hear the most about. The deuce design is a lock ring design. It is much safer, but can still kill you if you don't pay attention to what you are doing. I have done many without incident, but...
Well I tried it out today and I think I might like it. It wasn't as fast as my prior method but that might change with practice. Yes Eric, I did smash a finger and I blame you as it wouldn't happen if you hadn't pointed it out.
Huh, I don't know. I have never seen that. I would imagine that its still good and that maybe the curve is to aid in removal? Lets see what everyone else says. Would the PS mag at the top cover this?

Mike, are you trying to get the ring on or off? I have just set the ring on the rim and then stepped on the ring to get it to drop into its "notch". Sometimes I have to stomp on the ring a little, but nothing worth THAT much of an effort. If the tires just came from another rim...
